AC Ends Season with 83-66 Loss at Albion

ALBION, Mich. - Senior Nichole Roose had her finest scoring output of the season in her final game with 15 points as Adrian dropped an 83-66 decision at Albion College in the MIAA Tournament Semifinals. Roose began the contest making her first three shots and finished going 3-of-6 from the field. She also was a perfect 7-of-7 at the free throw line. The Bulldogs allowed their second highest point total to the Britons as Albion scored 41 points in the first half and 42 points in the second half. Both teams had a fine night at the free throw line as Adrian tied a season-high with an 87.5 percentage (21-of-24) while the Britons were 25-of-32 (.781) at the charity stripe.

The Bulldogs held their own in the first half and trailed 41-38 at intermission. Albion led by as many as eight points in the first half and Adrian tied the game twice but never took a lead. Adrian shot 46.2 percent in the first half and committed just seven turnovers. In the second half however Adrian shot 33.3 percent (9-of-27) and committed 13 miscues. Albion shot 44 percent in the second half and committed nine turnovers.

The Britons pushed their lead to 50-40 at the 16:52 mark starting the second half on a 9-2 run. Albion stretched their advantage to 11 points at the 15:48 mark and led by double digits the rest of the way. Kati Till scored a career-high 21 points for Albion who will battle Hope at Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in the MIAA Final in Holland. Megan Bouwens scored 14 points including 11 in the first half. She was 6-of-9 shooting and made her first triple of the season to go with six boards and two steals in 25 minutes. Sophomore guard Jennifer Perrin scored 13 points going 3-of-4 from the field and 7-of-7 at the line and also dished out five assists in 26 minutes. Adrian finishes 2007-08 with a record of 10-16.
