LORAIN, Ohio - 
The women's bowling team had their first-ever competition on Saturday at the American Heartland Conference #1 matchup and finished fifth in total pinfall. The Bulldogs made history when they went head-to-head in their matchup against Louisville by winning 733-664. In addition, Adrian beat Ferris State, Wright State and Youngstown State in head-to-head competition.
The team also went 4-1 in team baker games losing only to Davenport University who claimed first place overall. In baker games, AC defeated Michigan and Grand Valley State as big wins. The Bulldogs ended up fifth in the tournament due to total pinfall. Over 100 bowlers took part in the field and Whitney Hastings of Tecumseh finished 10th with a 176 average. Nicole Schlimme of Traverse City averaged 163 and finished 22nd overall.
"The girls did an unbelievable job today and myself and Coach Schlimme are
very proud of them," said head coach Luke Harrigan. "All the girls on the team helped out in some way to put Adrian College officially on the map in collegiate bowling."
