The men's hockey team completed a weekend sweep of Concordia (Wis.) on Sunday with a 7-0 win over the Falcons. Sophomore Jeremy Cross got his first start of the season in net and made 12 saves earning his first career shutout. Cross made three saves in the first and third periods and six saves in the second stanza.
Sophomore Brad Houston was the only player to score twice for the Bulldogs. Houston ran his season goal total to eight with even strength goals at 18:25 of the first and 2:07 of the third. Houston also assisted on the third goal of the game. Sophomore Mike Towns earned three points on the afternoon with a goal and two assists. Towns scored his fourth of the year at 16:37 of the third for the team's seventh goal of the afternoon. He also assisted on the second and third goals for Adrian. Sophomore Joel Workman scored the third goal of the day at 3:18 of the second and earned two assists on the second and seventh goals for AC.
The Bulldogs recorded 46 shots on goal as Chris Stansik led the team with six. Sophomore Bobby Hineman scored the opening goal at 13:34 of the first on the power play as Adrian ended up 2-for-4 with the advantage. Concordia went 0-for-6 on the power play. Adrian was whistled for 11 penalties for a total of 30 minutes. Adrian (13-1-1, 10-0 MCHA) will be back at home next weekend against Minnesota-Crookston.
