Bulldogs Defeat Foresters 2-0

ADRIAN, Mich. - The women's hockey team improved to 12-5-1 Saturday night by defeating Lake Forest by the final score of 2-0. Kelly Salis and Stacey Kempson each scored a goal for the Bulldogs.

Salis scored her first goal of the season for Adrian in the first period to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead. Dana Funkernhauser was credited with an assist on the play.

Kempson put Adrian on top 2-0 in the second period. She leads the team with 15 goals this season. Brooke Zaleski and Andrea Soloko earned assists on the goal.

The Bulldogs out shot the Foresters six to nine in the first period, and 10 to seven in the second. However, the Foresters made a push to tie the game in the third by taking seven shots on goal compared to five by Adrian.

Alexis Glenn was sent to the penalty box for tripping late in the third period. With time running out on the Foresters the team decided to pull their goalie for the last 1:23 of the game. Adrian held off the attack and won the game by the final score of 2-0.

Dana Timm shut out Lake Forest by making 20 saves through 60 minutes of action for Adrian. The Bulldogs will return to the ice to face the Foresters again tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.
