Ben Enser was the story of the first half for the Bulldogs. Enser entered the game after Billy Cremeans headed to the sideline due to an injury. Adrian took the 1-0 advantage into halftime, but it didn't last long as Hope scored a goal in the 53rd minute of play to tie the game at 1-1. John Herbert scored his third goal of the season off a header in front of the net for the Flying Dutch.
The Bulldogs nearly scored with 20 minutes remaining as Cazz Warren found a wide open Justin McCurbin in the middle of the field. McCurbin blasted a shot from 25 yards out, but Logan Neil was able to make a great save to keep the game tied at 1-1.
AC had another great chance to win the game in overtime. Travis Smith broke away from a defender and took a hard shot at the right side of the net, but Neil once again made a diving save for the Flying Dutch.
This game is the second MIAA contest that has ended in a tie for Adrian. AC tied Calvin on September 25th (0-0), and tonight they battled the fourth best team in the Central Region to a 1-1 tie.
The Bulldogs will return to action on October 10th with a game against Alma.
