Men's Basketball Falls 71-50 in Season Opener at Saginaw Valley State

UNIVERSITY CENTER, Mich. - The men's basketball team kicked off the Mark White era at NCAA Division II Saginaw Valley State on Sunday afternoon as the Cardinals beat the Bulldogs, 71-50. Jovon Mosley led all scorers with 19 points and went 6-of-6 at the foul line in 29 minutes on the afternoon. Mosley shot 5-of-14 from the floor and 3-of-8 from behind the arc with six rebounds and two steals.

Delano Collins was next in the scoring column for Adrian with seven points off the bench in 32 minutes. He was 3-of-9 from the floor and 1-of-2 at the foul line. Collins had six rebounds and two assists logging the most minutes for Adrian. Sean Gallant tied for the team lead with six rebounds and scored two points in 21 minutes of action. All 11 guys that played scored for the Bulldogs as they had 21 points off their bench. Adrian shot 30 percent (15-of-50) for the game and were 15-of-22 (68.2%) at the foul line.

The Bulldogs trailed 40-26 at the break and had a lead for the first three minutes of the game before SVSU went on an 8-0 run over the next four minutes. The Cardinals never trailed after that point building their lead to 25 points in the second half.

Adrian (0-1) will host the John Dawson Tournament this Saturday and Sunday to open their home schedule.
