Final Stats

ADRIAN, Mich. -

The Adrian College women's basketball team won the 2009 Tip-Off Tournament by defeating Defiance College on Saturday afternoon at the Merillat Center. Senior Anita Stamps was named tournament MVP.

The two evenly matched teams battled for the first 20 mintues of action. Adrian shot 38.5 percent as they went 10-for-26 from the field. Elysia Norris got off to a hot start by scoring 12 points in 13 minutes.

Adrian held a 34-32 advantage at halftime, and the game remained close the rest of the way. Norris scored a game-high 22 points and added nine rebounds to give Adrian the edge. Stamps played well for the second day in a row with 16 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Jennifer Perrin and Ashley McClarren also scored in double digits for the Bulldogs. Perrin went 8-of-9 from the free throw line to net her 13 points, and McClarren connected on four of her seven shots to end the game with 10 points.

An All-Tournament Team was announced after the tournament. Those players making the team included:
