The men's hockey team posted a 9-1 win on Saturday afternoon at Marian with four power play goals improving to 2-0. Sam Kuzyk had a hat trick for the Bulldogs with all of those coming on the power play. Shawn Skelly added two goals and an assist pushing his goal total to four early this season after leading Division III in scoring a year ago.
Kuzyk scored the only goal of the first period at 16:29 with assists from Brad Houston and Mike Dahlinger. The Bulldogs would add four goals in the second and third periods to cruise to the win. Andrew Dovey scored at even strength at 8:00 of the second with an assist from Mike Towns. It was Dovey's first goal as a Bulldog.
Kuzyk scored the third goal for Adrian and Eric Miller made it 4-0 on the power play at the 11:26 mark of the second with assists from Skelly and Quinn Waller. Ryan Hitchcock got Marian on the board at 2:55 of the third.
Kuzyk made it 6-1 at 13:20 with assists from Houston and Kyle Frieday. Frieday totaled three assists on the day also helping on Kyle Watson's first of the season at 14:56. Skelly scored at 16:21 and Houston finished the scoring at 17:12 from Dahlinger and Rob Hodnicki.
Brad Fogal made 35 saves in net for Adrian. Adrian went 4-of-10 on the power play and held Marian to 0-of-6 with the man-advantage. Adrian outshot Marian, 46-36, for the game.
