Bulldogs Shut Out Finlandia 6-0

ADRIAN, Mich. - The #9 Adrian College women's hockey team got off to a fast start by scoring three goals within the first five minutes of the opening period to improve their overall record to 15-5-1.

Stacey Kempson scored the first goal of the game for the Bulldogs. She was assisted on the play by Jessica Grubbs and Kelly Salis. Nicky Futers scored her second goal of the season to give Adrian a 2-0 lead, and Lyndsay Laxton scored the final goal of the third period to give Adrian a 3-0 advantage.

The Bulldogs added two more goals in the second period. Kelly Salis scored seven minutes into the period, and Kempson added her second goal of the game nearly two minutes later. Kempson has scored 17 goals this season.

Erin Winters scored her first career goal for Adrian in the third period. Alexis Glenn recorded her second assist of the game on the play. Jessica Grubbs also had two assists for the Bulldogs.

Dana Timm played goalie for the first 27 minutes of the game, but after the Bulldogs built a secure lead it was time for Meghan Smerecki to get her first look at the goaltender for Adrian. Smerecki played the final 32 minutes and made six saves.

The Bulldogs will return to action next weekend with a two-game road series against UW-Concordia.
