Bulldogs Blowout Bluffton 41-7

BLUFFTON, Ohio - The Adrian College football team improved their overall record to 2-1 with a 41-7 victory over the Bluffton Beavers on Saturday afternoon. The AC offense compiled 457 total yards of offense including 241 yards on the ground and 216 yards through the air.

Zach Scoville scored the first points of the game for AC with a 39-yard field goal early in the first quarter. Nick Hemmingsen increased the Bulldog lead to 10-0 by catching a 19-yard touchdown pass from Mike McGee.

The second quarter belonged to the offensive line and Myke Johnson. Johnson blew the game wide open with two rushing touchdowns in the second quarter to give Adrian a 24-0 lead at the half. Jeremy Southworth and Jeff Bien each scored a touchdown in the second half to round out the scoring drives for Adrian.

The duo of Myke Johnson and Jared Edwards proved to be too much for the Bluffton defense. Edwards led the team with 64 rushing yards, and Johnson was right behind him with 62 yards on the ground. The Bulldogs has seven players rush for more than 10 yards on Saturday.

Mike McGee put up solid numbers against the Beavers. McGee threw for 159 yards through the air as he completed 13 of his 21 passes. Joe Beehler and Edwards each had five catches for the Bulldogs.

Jarred Kwiatkowski and Gino Panza led the AC defense with six tackles a piece. Panza broke through the offensive line to record two sacks for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs will return to action on September 26th to face Lake Erie on Homecoming Weekend.
