Hope's Quick Start Leads to 77-53 Win over Adrian

HOLLAND, Mich. - The women's basketball team faced a talented Hope team on Thursday in the middle game of a three-game week falling 77-53 at the DeVos Fieldhouse. The Flying Dutch went on a 21-0 run to start the game as Adrian scored their first points at the 13:11 mark on a Jennifer Perrin jumper. The team missed their first eight shots and committed eight turnovers during the run.

After that start, the Bulldogs made five of their next 10 field goals but the game would never get much closer as Adrian trailed 47-21 at halftime. Adrian shot 9-of-27 in the first half and committed 16 turnovers. The Bulldogs did have a 19-17 edge on the boards in the opening half. Perrin and Jenn Headley each had six points in the first half.

Adrian (7-9, 3-5 MIAA) dropped their third straight while Hope won its 60th straight at home, the longest streak in Division III. Ashley McClarren had a career-high 15 rebounds in the loss. Perrin led the team with 12 points and also grabbed five rebounds. Headley had eight points and nine rebounds in 28 minutes.
