Jan. 23, 2010

Final Stats

HOLLAND, Mich. - The Adrian College men's basketball team was defeated by Hope College on Saturday afternoon by the final score of 79-63.

The Bulldogs started the game well, and challenged Hope early in the contest. A layup by Michael Staley tied the game at 15-15 with 11:23 remaining in the first half. The Dutch took advantage of back-to-back AC turnovers to go on a 7-0 run causing Adrian to call a timeout. Wesley Reed hit a jumper out of the break, but it was not enough to stop the momentum of Hope as the Dutch led 36-23 at halftime.

Adrian played a solid second half as they were only outscored 43-40. Mosley scored a game-high 19 points, while Cody Barnes added 11. Matt Wayne added a post presence for Adrian as he connected on four of his eight shot attempts to end the game with 10 points and a team-high six rebounds.

Both teams hit free throws well on Saturday afternoon. Hitting shots from the charity stripe was important as Adrian was whistled for 23 fouls and Hope had 15 personal fouls. Adrian ended the game 14-of-17 from the free throw line (82%).
