Final Stats
SUPERIOR, Wis. -
Dana Timm has been the stopper for Adrian over the last few years and on Friday night pitched her 12th career shutout as Adrian claimed a 1-0 win over the Yellow Jackets of UW-Superior. The Bulldogs creeped a little closer in the NCHA standings with the win, as they are now 7-3-1 in the conference (15 points) and 9-9-2 overall. Lake Forest was idle tonight and is in first place with 16 points.
Adrian outshot UW-Superior, 7-3, in the first period as neither team had many offensive chances. UW-Superior goaltender Amy Meyer took an interference penalty at 12:42 of the second period as that was the break that Adrian needed. Andrea Soloko scored her first goal of the season from the top of the blue line through traffic with Brooke Zaleski getting an assist at 14:08 for the game-winner.
The third period saw more penalties than the other two periods combined, but AC kept UW-Superior off the board holding them to 0-for-4 on the power play. The final horn saw a few tempers flare as Stacey Kempson was hit with a five-minute major for contact to the head and she also got a game disqualification. That means that she will miss tomorrow's game with UW-Superior. Kempson is tied for second on the team with 18 points this season.
