Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College
men's soccer team win streak now stands at three as they
defeated Hope College on Friday 1-0. The Bulldogs record now stand
at 4-6 overall and 3-1 in the MIAA.
With the win, Adrian now sits atop the MIAA standings with nine
points. Hope, the fourth ranked team by the NSCAA in the Central
Region, was denied several chances throughout the game. The
Bulldogs were able to keep the Flying Dutchmen, the second highest
scoring team in the conference, in check by a stingy defense and
goalkeeper Alex
Pavlika. Pavlika made five saves on the night, while the
defense aided in denying the Flying Dutchmen's other 14
shots.
The lone goal of the game came off the foot of sophomore Billy
Cremeans in the 33rd minute. Freshman Morgan
Copeland made a crossing pass from outside the box to the far
right post and Cremeans slipped it past the right side of the Hope
goalie from about five yards out for the score. With the goal,
Cremeans has now scored in three consecutive games. Cremeans goal
was the only Adrian shot on goal, but it was all they needed to get
the win.
The Bulldogs will next play when they travel to Kalamazoo on
Wednesday, October 6 at 4:00 pm.
