Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's
soccer team had a chance to take the lead in the MIAA standings
with a win on Tuesday, but the Bulldogs could only manage a 1-1 tie
with the visiting Alma College. Adrian's record is not 5-7-1 on the
season and 4-2-1 in the MIAA.
The Bulldogs made the first blow as freshman Mitch
Aguilera scored his second goal of the season in the
34th minute off a long pass from fellow freshman Marcus
Derrick-Huie. After the first goal, the action slowed down as
there were only three shot on goal in the second half between the
teams. Alma took advantage of theirs as they scored the equalizer
with only 19 seconds left in the half after a deflected save off
senior Alex
Pavlika.
Both teams had opportunities to score in the two overtimes, as
sophomore Billy
Cremeans had an opportunity with only two minutes left in the
second overtime but his shot was wide left.
Sophomore Cazz
Warren led the Bulldogs with two shots on goal. In goal,
Pavlika made a game-high five saves.
The Bulldogs will return to action on Saturday, October 16 at
2:30 p.m. as they take on the 17th ranked Calvin
College.
