Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College men's
soccer team battled through a tough matchup against the
17th ranked Calvin College on Saturday to a 1-1 tie. The
Bulldogs are not 5-7-2 overall and 4-2-2 in the MIAA.
The Bulldogs limited one of the highest scoring offenses in the
MIAA at bay allowing only two shots on goal, which tied a
season-low for Calvin. Meanwhile, Adrian took a season-high 17
shots while attempting nine shots on goal.
After the Knights took an early lead on a goal in the
16th minute, sophomore Billy
Cremeans scored his team-high sixth goal of the season in the
75th minute off a long outlet pass from freshman Morgan
Copeland. Cremeans beat his defender and snapped off a hook
shot that cleared the left side of the goalie and wound up in the
back of the net. For the game, Creameans and fellow sophomore Cazz
Warren
had a game-high three shots on goal.
The Bulldogs has several opportunities to put the game away late
into the second half and into overtime, but could not put the ball
into the net.
Adrian will host Trine University at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday,
October 20.
