Adrian Now Atop MIAA With Victory Over Albion

Box Score

ALBION, Mich. – The Adrian College men's soccer team has put themselves in a favorable position to make a run at the MIAA title as they moved into first place in the MIAA with a 1-0 double-overtime win over Albion College. The Bulldogs have now run their unbeaten streak to five games as their record is now 7-7-2 overall and 6-2-2 in the conference.

Earlier in the day, Kalamazoo fell to Calvin which opened the door for the Bulldogs to walk through if they could pull out a victory. It took three periods and over 105 minutes of soccer for Adrian to accomplish it, but was successful in the end. The victory was Adrian's second double-overtime victory in their last three games.

Midway through the second overtime, sophomore Billy Cremeans made a crossing pass from the baseline to fellow sophomore Cazz Warren who buried the ball in the net for the win.

The Bulldogs were in control most of the game as they out-shot the Britons 20 to eight and had more shots on goal, leading seven to two.

In goal, senior Alex Pavlika notched his third shutout of the season while making two saves on the night.

Adrian will look to extend their lead in the MIAA as they travel to Hope College on Tuesday, October 25 at 7:00 p.m.
