Box Score ALBION, Mich. – The Adrian College men's
soccer team has put themselves in a favorable position to make a
run at the MIAA title as they moved into first place in the MIAA
with a 1-0 double-overtime win over Albion College. The Bulldogs
have now run their unbeaten streak to five games as their record is
now 7-7-2 overall and 6-2-2 in the conference.
Earlier in the day, Kalamazoo fell to Calvin which opened the
door for the Bulldogs to walk through if they could pull out a
victory. It took three periods and over 105 minutes of soccer for
Adrian to accomplish it, but was successful in the end. The victory
was Adrian's second double-overtime victory in their last three
games.
Midway through the second overtime, sophomore Billy
Cremeans made a crossing pass from the baseline to fellow
sophomore Cazz
Warren who buried the ball in the net for the win.
The Bulldogs were in control most of the game as they out-shot
the Britons 20 to eight and had more shots on goal, leading seven
to two.
In goal, senior Alex
Pavlika notched his third shutout of the season while making
two saves on the night.
Adrian will look to extend their lead in the MIAA as they travel
to Hope College on Tuesday, October 25 at 7:00 p.m.
