LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The men's hockey team maintained a hold of
second place in the MCHA standings (5-1) with a 6-2 win on Saturday
afternoon (Nov. 20) at Lake Forest. The Foresters were looking for
the upset of the 10th-ranked Bulldogs early as they jumped out to a
2-0 lead in the first period. Chris Gard and Phil Bushbacher scored
at 12:27 and 16:01 of the first for Lake Forest. The Bulldogs ended
the period down 2-1 scoring a much-needed power play goal by Zach
Graham, his sixth of the year, at 18:25 from Eric Miller and Mike
Towns.
Adrian then put their foot on the gas and scored three times in
the second period and two more times in the third period. Andrew
Dovey notched the next two goals for Adrian at even strength. His
second of the season at 2:44 of the second tied it up and his third
goal of the year at 6:02 proved to be the game-winner. Towns
returned to the lineup after missing the last couple games and
scored on the power play at 15:30 with assists from Jeremy Klaver
and Graham. Klaver finished the game with three assists.
Joel Workman scored his second of the year at 10:58 of the third
from Klaver and Shawn Courtney completed the scoring on the power
play at 17:36 for his first goal with an assist from Brad
Houston.
Adrian outshot Lake Forest, 40-25, with 18 shots coming in the
second period. Adrian finished 3-of-5 on the power play while Lake
Forest went 1-of-7. Brad Fogal made 23 saves in net for the
Bulldogs.
