ADRIAN, Mich. - For the third straight season, the Adrian College men's hockey team has claimed at least a share of the MCHA regular season title after an 11-1 win on Friday night against Concordia (Wis.). The Bulldogs started the day six points ahead of Marian and at press time the game between Marian and Lawrence had not yet finished. The Bulldogs and Falcons will conclude their weekend series tomorrow at 3:00 p.m.

The Bulldogs won their ninth straight game and their 24th straight home game by scoring six goals in the first and cruising through the next two periods. It was also Adrian's 52nd straight MCHA regular season win.

Shawn Skelly had a historic night by passing into first place in the MCHA career record books for most points. He had a goal and two assists and now has 132 points surpassing the mark of 130. Skelly's first period goal was the record breaking point and the game was stopped as the crowd gave the junior forward at standing ovation.

Six different guys scored in the first period for the Bulldogs. Joel Workman had a short-handed goal for his 10th goal of the season which gave AC a 4-0 lead at the 14:07 mark. Mike Towns made it 5-0 at 18:04 and Skelly's goal at 19:21 rounded out the period scoring.

Kyle Frieday, Kyle Watson and Towns each added goals in the second period as Adrian led 9-1 after 40 minutes. Workman and Zach Graham finished out the scoring in the third period. Adrian outshot Concordia, 61-22, including a 21-7 edge in the first period. Everett Devlin allowed those six first-period goals and made 15 saves before getting yanked for Michael Wyenn in the second and third. Wyenn ended with 35 saves and five goals allowed on the night.

Brad Fogal made 21 saves to pick up his 63rd career win. He also improved to 49-0 in MCHA games. Workman, Watson and Towns each had a pair of goals to lead the Bulldogs.
