Kathy Morris Wins 200th Game at Adrian with 68-58 Victory over Trine

ADRIAN, Mich. - Kathy Morris picked up her 200th win at Adrian College on Saturday afternoon with a 68-58 victory over Trine. The team used a big second half to turn a three-point halftime deficit into a 10-point win. Five players were in double figures for the Bulldogs who are now 10-10 overall and 6-6 in the MIAA. Adrian is now in fourth place in the league standings.

Adrian held Trine in the second half to 39.1 percent shooting as the Thunder went 0-for-4 from behind the arc and 10-for-19 at the free throw line. Adrian shot slightly lower in the second half (39.3%) than the first half (40.9%) but used strong rebounding and cut down on their turnovers in the final 20 minutes.

The Bulldogs took the lead for good at the 11:33 mark of the second half at 40-38 after a Katie Ross triple. Ross finished with 11 points and scored all of her points in the second half. AC used an 11-2 run over the next three-plus minutes to extend their lead to 51-40 with 8:19 to play. Ross hit two big triples during the run.

Trine cut the lead down to seven, 60-53, with 1:28 left but Adrian made their free throws down the stretch. Ashley McClarren recorded her third double-double of the season with 15 points and 11 rebounds. She did most of her damage at the foul line going 9-for-12. She also had six offensive rebounds. McClarren went over 400 career rebounds in the game and is now nine points shy of 600 for her career.

Adrian defeated Trine for the second time this season after a 52-47 win in Angola on January 6. Jenn Headley had a solid game with 10 points and nine boards in 33 minutes. She was 3-for-6 from the floor and 4-for-4 at the line. Jennifer Perrin added 12 points and four assists. Anita Stamps scored 10 points and grabbed four rebounds. Adrian picked up their sixth home win of the season and held an opponent under 60 points for the eighth time this season.
