Women's Hockey Defeats Marian 6-1

ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College women's hockey team defeated Marian University by the final score of 6-1 on Saturday night. Jessica Grubbs scored the first goal of the game in just 23 seconds, and Adrian stayed in full control the rest of the game to earn their 11th win of the season.

Grubbs scored her 12th goal of the season off assists from Ashley Gniewek and Brooke Zaleski. The Bulldogs were able to score two more goals in the second period. Kelly Salis scored from a Gniewek assist, and then it was a pass from Salis that allowed Lauren Anastos to score the third goal of the game for AC.

Marian scored their lone goal of the game less than a minute into the third period. Aly Lund broke away from the Adrian defense to score her third goal of the season. The Bulldogs would respond by scoring three goals during the final period. Brooke Zaleski scored the first goal off an assist from Grubbs. Prenella Semma scored the final two goals of the game for Adrian. Semma now has six goals on the year. Olivia Rork picked up an assist on each goal, while Shana Davis also earned an assist on the final goal of the game.

Dana Timm got the win between the pipes for Adrian. Timm made nine saves. Adrian will face Marian again tomorrow on Super Bowl Sunday. The first puck will drop at 2:00 p.m.
