ADRIAN, Mich. - The men's tennis team evened its record at 2-2 with a 5-4 loss to Heidelberg University on St. Patrick's Day. Brian Opyrchal showed a comeback resilience at five singles in one of the highlighted matches. Opyrchal trailed in both sets before coming back to win. He was down 3-0 in the first set and won the last six games (6-3) and then was behind 5-2 in the second set before pulling off a 7-5 win. He is 3-1 on the year in singles.

Eric Sturgis and Chris Ludwig remained undefeated in singles play this season. Sturgis defeated Bobby Lochotzki (6-3, 7-6) at one singles while Ludwig beat Brad Cerveny (6-3, 6-2) at three singles.

The difference came in doubles where Heidelberg took two of the three. Sturgis and Cameron Hamilton won 8-4 at one doubles against Lochotzki and Cliff Goetz but the `Berg took an 8-3 win at two doubles and an 8-4 win at three doubles.
