DEMOREST, Ga. -
The baseball team rebounded from a pair of losses to Birmingham Southern with a convincing 12-2 win over Bridgewater on Tuesday. The heart of the order switched up a little bit as coach Craig Rainey looked for an offensive spark. Cowart went 3-for-4 with a run, triple and three RBI's. Cappelletty continued his hot start with a pair of RBI's and a run. Anderson collected three hits in five at-bats and scored twice with one RBI.
Adrian was the home team on a neutral site and scored first in the bottom of the first to take a 1-0 lead. Cowart drove in Nate Sarkissian in the inning on an error by the second baseman. Adrian struck again in the third with two runs to take a 3-0 lead. Cappelletty had an RBI groundout and Brian Bilius drove in Jason Greer with the third run.
After Bridgewater trimmed the lead to 3-2 in the top of the fifth, the Bulldogs scored twice in the home half of the fifth. Greer had a sacrifice fly and Cappelletty drove in Cowart with a single after Cowart led off the inning with a triple.
Adrian pulled away in the sixth with three runs and then added two more in the seventh. Cowart had an RBI single in the sixth and seventh. Adrian finished their onslaught in the eighth with their final two runs.
