RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The Adrian College women's hockey team dropped a tough road game to the #2 Wis.-River Falls 3-1 in the final game of the series. The loss puts the Bulldogs record at 8-3-3 in the NCHA conference to remain in fourth place.

Adrian had a chance to score first as freshman Morgan Poole (Ottawa, Ont.) had breakaway opportunity two minutes into the second period but was stopped by River Falls goaltender Ashley Kuechle. The Falcons would get on the board first as Katie Batters pushed the puck past freshman Emily Michelin (Highland, Mich.) seven minutes into the second period. Adrian senior Lauren Anastos (Farmington Hills, Mich.) scored her first goal of the season with just under three minutes to play in the period. The freshman tandem of Danielle Smith (Highland, Mich.) and Lauren Turner (Thunder Bay, Ont.) assisted on the goal. River Falls rebounded quickly as Kait Mason scored her second goal of the series as she pushed the puck over Michelins' glove side with just 44 seconds left in the period.

Midway through the third period, Michelin was called for a penalty and the Falcons capitalized on the man advantage just under midway through the period. Lauren Conrad took a shot that was tipped by Katie Flannigan and slid through Michelins' five hole to push score to the final of 3-1.

Senior Stacey Kempson (Windsor, Ont.) led the Bulldogs with four shots on goal, while Anastos, Poole and senior Ashley Gniewek (Southgate, Mich.) each had three.

Michelin stopped 29 Falcon shots in net, while allowing all three of River Falls goals. Adrian was out-shot 32-22 for the game

Adrian was 0-3 on the power play while River Falls was 1-5. The loss drops the Bulldogs all-time record against the Falcons to 3-4-2.

Adrian will look to regroup as they travel to Lake Forest College for a conference series starting at 8:00 p.m. (est.) on Friday, February 4.
