RIVER FALLS, Wisc. – In a battle that wasn't decided until the final five minutes of the third period, the Adrian College women's hockey team lost to host University of Wisconsin River Falls 5-3 today (Nov. 6) on the ice of Hunt Arena. The Lady Bulldogs drop to 2-2 overall and 0-2 in the NCHA. The Falcons improve to 2-0 overall and 2-0 in conference play.

The Falcons scored first in the first period at 8:20 when Kendal Evenson found Darion Bruyere for her first goal of the season. Just under five minutes later, Adrian responded and scored on a power play with senior Olivia Rork scoring her second goal of the season. Sophomore Danielle Smith earned the assist, her fifth on the year. With three minutes left before intermission, UW River Falls snuck one more score between the pipes. This time it was Alyssa Black with Alice Cranston earning the assist.

Rork knotted up the game 2-2 with her second goal of the game off a power play at 3:04 in the second with senior Kelly Salis and Smith picking up the assists. The even score wouldn't last long as the Falcons' Alice Cranston scored at 6:53. Katie Flanagan was rewarded the assist.

Adrian sophomore Sarah Connelly picked up her first collegiate goal with just under two minutes left in the second period to tie the game at three apiece heading into the final period.

It went 16 minutes before the Falcons cracked the lead and scored twice at 16:17 and 19:41.

Adrian went 2-7 on power plays, while the Falcons were 0-5.

In the net for Adrian, Emily Michelin gloved 25 saves in 58:56 minutes of play.

The Lady Bulldogs are back in action when they travel to Wisconsin Superior on Friday, Nov. 11 at 8:00 p.m.
