Adrian Wins Seventh in a Row with 9-2 Win at Concordia (Wis.)

CEDARBURG, Wis. – The men's hockey team kept pace with MSOE atop the MCHA standings with their seventh win in a row and 11th straight unbeaten decision in a 9-2 win at Concordia University on Friday (Feb. 11). Mike Dahlinger had three points in the third period with two goals and one assist to lead the Bulldogs. MSOE's 3-0 win over Lake Forest gives both teams identical 18-3-1 and 15-1-1 records this season.

Jeff Young scored the first goal of the game and his first goal of the season at 4:19 of the first period with an assist from Kyle Watson. Concordia tied the game at 1-1 as Jari Sanders scored at 14:14 with assists from Dan Shilts and Joseph Greg Douglas. The Bulldogs scored the first of their three power play goals at 18:57 as Josh Cousineau's fourth of the season from Shawn Skelly and Jeremy Klaver made it 2-1 after 20 minutes. Adrian outshot CU, 17-3, in the first period.

The Bulldogs scored three goals in the second period and built a 5-1 lead after 40 minutes. Skelly scored his 14th of the season at 11:07 from Zach Graham and Blake Barkwell. Jordan Watts scored 2:32 later for his eighth of the season with an assist from Joel Workman. Barkwell then scored his second goal of the year at 16:54 with assists from Graham and Skelly. Adrian held a 34-11 edge in shots on goal after two periods.

Adrian added four more goals in the third period and scored eight unanswered goals at one point. Brad Houston scored at 1:46 on the power play for his 13th tally of the season from Dahlinger and Quinn Waller. Dahlinger scored on the power play just 1:35 later from Waller and Watts and then Kyle Gallinger scored his first of the year just 25 seconds after the Dahlinger goal to make it 8-1. Adrian increased their lead to 9-1 at 8:30 as Dahlinger's 11th goal of the season was assisted by Sam Kuzyk and Klaver.

Adrian finished 3-of-8 on the power play and were 6-of-6 on the penalty kill for the game. Brad Fogal made 15 saves and Jeremy Cross played the final 8:19 allowing his first goal of the season with one save. The two teams will play tomorrow at 3:00 pm eastern to conclude their weekend series.
