Hockey Sweeps Season Series with 7-1 Win at Concordia (Wis.)

CEDARBURG, Wis. - The men's hockey team completed a season sweep of Concordia (Wis.) with a 7-1 win on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 12). Adrian built a 2-1 lead after one period and then scored the final five goals of the game with three goals in the second and two more in the third.

Adrian improved its record to 19-3-1, 16-1-1 MCHA and outshot the Falcons, 46-19, including a 23-3 edge in the second. The Bulldogs were an impressive 3-of-5 on the power play putting them second in Division III for the season. They had 17 shots on goal during their five tries and scored one power play goal in each period.

Shawn Skelly scored his 15th goal of the season and 96th of his career at 11:19 of the first period on the power play. Mike Dahlinger and Brad Fogal each had an assist as it was Fogal's first of the season and third of his career. Drew Satterley scored his first goal of the season just 2:36 later at even strength with assists by Kyle Watson and Mark Gertsakis.

The Bulldogs got goals from Zach Graham (12:00), Jeremy Klaver (12:35) and Sam Kuzyk (15:19) in the second period to basically put the game away. Quinn Waller assisted on two goals in the period and Graham also assisted on the Klaver goal which was his first of the season.

Dahlinger's 12th goal of the year at 10:53 of the third made it 6-1 on a 4-on-4 situation. Gertsakis rounded out the scoring at 12:04 on the power play for his second goal of the campaign. The goal was assisted by Josh Cousineau and Waller who finished the game with three assists.

Brad Fogal got the win in net making 14 saves in 46:10. Jeremy Cross played the final 13:50 and made four saves allowing no goals.
