ADRIAN, Mich. – The Adrian College women's basketball team closed out their home schedule with a 74-45 loss to Hope College on Wednesday. The loss drops Adrian to 7-14 on the year and 4-10 in the MIAA, which places them seventh currently in the conference standings.

The Bulldogs fell behind early as Hope started the game with a 10-0 lead through the first three minutes of the game. Hope shot an impressive 61pct. (14-23) from the floor in the first half compared to Adrian's 29 (7-24). The Flying Dutch built a 45-20 lead at halftime that the Bulldogs were unable to overcome. On the night, the teams were evenly matched on the boards as both teams grabbed 39 rebounds apiece. Both teams also managed six blocks, but Hope was able to take advantage of 25 Adrian turnovers compared to 14 for Hope.

Leading the way for the Bulldogs were the sophomore tandem of Kayla Galecka (Ovid, Mich./Ovid-Elsie) and Rachael Walker (Warrensville Hts., Ohio/John F. Kennedy) who each scored six points. Freshman Senneca Scott (Livonia, Mich./Franklin) had a team-high eight rebounds. Jasmine Byers (Detroit, Mich./Martin Luther King), a sophomore, tied a single-game school record with five blocks. All 14 of Adrian's players scored at least one point in the game.

Adrian will travel to Alma College on Saturday, February 12 for a 3:00 p.m. conference game.
