PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. - The move to Florida from Georgia did not leave the baseball team stale as they jumped all over John Jay College, 16-3, to even their record at 2-2. The Bulldogs pounded out 13 hits against four Bloodhound hurlers and scored in double digits for the second time this year.
Adrian scored three times in the second inning as Chad Williams had an RBI single and a John Jay error led to two more runs. The Bulldogs erupted for seven runs in the third inning to build a 10-0 lead. Joe Dubina had a two-run double in the frame to get the ball rolling.
Adrian rounded out the scoring with two runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings as they built a 16-1 lead. John Jay scored one run in the fifth and two more in the eighth. Nate Sarkissian led Adrian with three RBI's and also scored two runs. Jamey Sackett also went 2-for-2 with a walk and Williams finished 2-for-2 with two runs scored.
Zach Robbins (1-0) got the start and went the required five innings for the win. He allowed three hits and no earned runs. He also walked a pair and struck out seven. Lucas Willitzer threw one inning and struck out one. Holden Branch threw the final three innings allowing two earned runs and walking two with one strikeout.
Adrian will face Ferrum tomorrow at 2:00 PM in their second game at the Snowbird Classic.
