Box Score ALMA, Mich. - Junior Jamie Brower scored his first goal of the season in the latter stages of the first half, but in the end it was Alma College winning 3-1 against the visiting Bulldogs on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 27.
Adrian falls to 1-6-1 overall and are still winless in the MIAA at 0-4. Alma improved to 4-5 overall and picked up their first MIAA victory in four tries. David Gettel scored in the 28th minute for the Scots with an assist from Mike Smith to give Alma a 1-0 lead. The goal was setup by a throw-in by Smith.
Alma extended its lead to 2-0 in the 32nd minute as Dirk Roskam headed in the ball from Matt Kuberski off a direct free kick. Brower cut the Alma lead to 2-1 in the 39th minute with an assist from Pat Bradley. Brower took a free kick from Bradley and the Bulldogs were right back in the contest.
Nick Peper put the game away in the 53rd minute as he launched a long shot from the middle of the field unassisted. Adrian was yellow carded five times in the match and freshman James Ruby made five saves. Adrian outshot Alma, 18-15, with a 10-8 edge in shots on goal. Graham Wallace made nine saves for the Scots.
