Box Score Freshman Adam Meier and the rest of the Bulldog bunch improved to 9-4 (2-1 MIAA) after an MIAA test at Trine in which they came out on top, 53-42. Meier, who had previously struggled in the game at Hope Saturday, posted his way to a double-double with 12 points and a career-high 12 rebounds.
Adrian held the lead from the offset as sophomore forward Richaud Pack hit a 3-pointer on the first possession, which was followed by a lay-up from junior Brad Whitby, who finished with 10 points. Adrian quickly held a 5-0 lead within the first minute and a half of the game.
While the Bulldogs failed to score in the last four minutes of the first half, they still played their way to a seven point lead going into the locker room, 28-21. They went on to score the first four points of the second half after Meier and junior Sean Gallant both hit back-to-back layups.
The Bulldogs did manage to turn the ball over 18 times off of six Trine steals but held a sizeable lead in the rebounding category as they out-rebounded the Thunder, 45-25. The Bulldogs also won the free-throw battle, going 9-14 from the foul-line compared to Trine going 3-5. With the loss, Trine falls to 9-5 (2-1 MIAA).
The Bulldogs will be at home this Saturday to take on Olivet. The Comets currently sit at 2-11 (0-2 MIAA). The game will tip off from the Merillat Center at 7:30 P.M.
