The women's bowling team began their second half of the season with a sixth place finish at the Hoinke Bearcat Classic in Cincinnati, Ohio this past weekend. The team bowled pretty consistent through the first five team games, sitting in 10th place with one more team game to bowl for the day. They shot their best game of the day and won all of their bonus points, moving up four spots to end the day in sixth place.
The second day of competition was on a shorter pattern vastly different than the pattern they bowled on the day before. The team got off to a great start shooting a 942 and moved up to fifth with two more games to go. They shot a decent second game but struggled during the last game to finish sixth overall.
Sophomore Chelsea Essenmacher and freshman Nicole Loomis led the way for the Bulldogs finishing 14th and 17th out of 118 bowlers. Essenmacher averaged a 180.33 for nine games while Loomis averaged a 178. The team will head to South Bend, Indiana this weekend to compete in the Blue & Gold Classic.
