Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The women's hockey team (2-0) blanked Augsburg College (0-2) for the second time in as many days, 4-0, Saturday at Arrington Ice Arena.
The Bulldogs converted 3-of-5 power plays as a key in the victory. Senior Brittany Zeches turned aside 29 shots for her second consecutive shutout to pace Adrian, while Alix Vallee and Kelsey Kusch each finished with a power-play goal and assist.
Courtney Millar's unassisted first period even-strength goal proved to be the game-winner almost nine minutes into the contest.
Danielle Smith doubled the team's lead almost nine minutes into the second period, with Adrian's first of three specialty team goals. Hannah McGowan and Kusch assisted on Smith's first tally of the season.
Vallee scored a power-play goal almost eight minutes into the third period on an assist from Devyn Fitzhenry, and Kusch tallied the team's final power-play goal almost seven minutes later with an assist from Vallee.
Adrian outshot Augsburg 46-29 on the afternoon.
