Box Score Danielle Smith started the scoring early for the Bulldogs as Adrian bested Marian (Wis.) 3-0 in an NCHA match-up. The sophomore Smith scored a power play goal two minutes into the contest as the Bulldogs never looked back, improving to 11-8-2 (9-6-2 NCHA).
The Bulldogs added a goal in the second period as freshman Hannah McGowan found the net off of a Nina Laurie assist. Senior Olivia Rork added a power play goal late in the second from Smith to keep her tied with McGowan for the team-lead in goals with 12.
Smith, Rork, and McGowan all finished the game with two points for the Bulldogs, as they are the top three on the team in season points.
Adrian managed to keep the puck on the offense for most of the night, outshooting Marian 51-16 on the evening. This made it an easy shutout for senior Brittany Zeches who improved her record to 8-3-1 on the year.
The two teams will meet again tomorrow for an afternoon contest at Arrington Ice Arena. The puck will drop at 2 p.m. as the Bulldogs try to move up in the NCHA Conference standings.
