Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. - Junior Delano Collins and the Adrian Bulldogs had a chance to tie the game with seven seconds left but the attempt failed to fall for Collins as the Bulldogs fell to Trine, 52-50. Collins received the inbound pass and took the ball full-court but could not get the shot to fall as the Bulldogs drop to 14-6 (7-3 MIAA).
Freshman Adam Meier was a perfect 5-5 from the field and finished with 15 points, also going 5-6 from the free-throw line. The Bulldogs trailed for the entire second half after going into the locker room trailing 29-24.
With the loss, the Bulldogs drop into a 3-way tie for second place in the MIAA with Calvin and Trine, as Calvin was victorious over Kalamazoo, 77-65.
Junior Brad Whitby had another strong performance for the Bulldogs, finishing with 13 points. Junior Sean Gallant added with seven points and 11 rebounds.
The Bulldogs out-rebounded Trine, 41-23 but could not hit a 3-point shot as Trine finished 5-14 from behind the arc while Adrian went 0-8.
The next game for the Bulldogs will be at Olivet as they will travel there on Wednesday, Feb. 8 for a 7:30 pm tip-off. Olivet is 4-17 (2-8 MIAA) on the season and sits in last place in the conference.
