Box Score GREENVILLE, Pa. - The men's soccer team lost a 1-0 decision on Sunday versus Birmingham Southern on a neutral field at Thiel College. The match was scoreless until the 75:49 mark when Brynjar Arnason scored for BSC with an assist from Emil Saevarsson. As the contest went to the wire, Adrian's Ryan McCarthy headed a ball off the crossbar off of a set piece and nearly sent the game to overtime.
"We played well. We played one of our more complete games today. Unfortunately, we made one mistake that cost us a game that could have gone either way," said head coach Chris LeFevre.
Adrian (2-5) managed five shots including two shots on net. Birmingham Southern (3-2-1) took 12 shots with three on net. Pat Bradley had two total shots to lead the Bulldogs. Niko Giantsopoulous made two saves for Adrian and fell to 1-4 in net this season.
The Bulldogs will return to conference play and host Kalamazoo College, Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 7:00 p.m. in their next matchup.
