Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The No. 9 women's hockey team (13-3, 8-3) beat the No.8 University of Wisconsin-Superior Yellowjackets (8-5, 5-4) in overtime, 4-3, Friday night.
Courtney Millar scored from Kristin Maton just into the extra session in Adrian's first home game since mid-November.
The Bulldogs are now a perfect 5-0 at home for the season.
The game was a see-saw event that saw the Bulldogs climb to a 3-0 lead, only to have the pesky Yellowjackets tie the game and send it into overtime.
Brittany Zeches turned aside 42 shots in getting her 12th win of the season.
The first period was all Adrian, outshooting UW-Superior 9-8, and taking a 2-0 lead into the first intermission.
Devyn Fitzhenry scored her fifth goal of the season just under eight minutes to play in the first period to give Adrian a 1-0 lead. Audrey Noles notched her first of the year with less than one minute to play in the first and a 2-0 lead.
Fitzhenry, then scored her second of the night just over three minutes into the second period to stake the Bulldogs to a 3-0 lead, before the Yellowjackets rallied to tie the game.
Both Fitzhenry and Maton had multiple-point nights, while single assists were awarded to Lauren Zachwieja, Kelsey Kusch and Danielle Smith.
The rematch is slated for tomorrow afternoon at 2 p.m.
