Box Score

BUFFALO, NY- The women's hockey team (11-3) scored two first-period goals on route to defeating Buffalo State College (4-7-1), 2-0, Saturday night in a non-conference matchup at the Buffalo State Sports Arena.

Adrian goaltender Brittany Zeches made 19 saves in recording her 10th win and sixth shutout of the season- with the latter moving her into a tie for first nationally amongst Division III netminders.

Danielle Smith and Kelsey Kusch each recorded a goal and an assist in the win.

Smith netted the game winner and her 10th goal of the season just under seven minutes into the contest. With just 11 seconds left in the opening period, Kusch would tally her 12th of the season and stake the Bulldogs to 2-0 lead.

That lead would hold as neither team scored in the final two periods.

Kusch's two-point night would move her nationally in Division III scoring to first in points with 21, and a tie for first in goals with 12.

With the shutout, Zeches would improve her position in NCHA overall standings by moving into first in goals-against average (1.53), and second in save percentage (.943).

The same two teams are set to take the ice tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
