ADRIAN, Mich. - The Adrian College women's bowling team hosted 16 men's teams and seven other women's teams this past Saturday at the AC Open down at Lenawee Recreation Lanes. New champions were crowned for the first time at the AC Open as the eighth-ranked University of Toledo defeated 11th-ranked Saginaw Valley State, 7,216-6,841, on the men's side while ninth-ranked Bowling Green State Falcons defeated 29th-ranked Adrian College, 6,828-6,659 on the women's side.
Sophomore Kate Gladstone took second place averaging 206.5 for four games and sophomore Katie Pakkala averaged a 201.33 for three games. "While we would have liked to win our own tournament, Bowling Green bowled great all day. Our finishes aren't reflecting how much better this team really is compared to past years. This year's team has all but one program record and is averaging almost 10 pins higher per game," commented head coach Jody Fetterhoff.
