Box Score FOND DU LAC, Wis. – The Adrian College nationally-ranked No. 9 women's hockey team (18-5-1, 13-5-1) shutout Marian University (3-17-2, 2-13-2), 4-0, Friday night in Northern Collegiate Hockey Association play.
Brittany Zeches extended her shutout play to 167:53 with the win and in adding to her nation-leading shutout total of nine- with 21 saves on the night.
Danielle Smith had two goals, while Courtney Millar and Sarah Connelly also scored to lead the Bulldogs.
Smith notched her 15th of the season with less than eight minutes left in the opening period to give Adrian a 1-0 lead.
Millar's eighth of the season made it 2-0 with under two minutes in the first period. Michelle Jones earned an assist.
Smith would get her second of the night and 16th on the year to put Adrian up 3-0, with the only goal of the second period.
Connelly would then add a third-period goal to round out the scoring with her 13th goal of the season.
Devyn Fitzhenry and Alix Vallee would each end the night with a couple of helpers.
Adrian outshot Marian, 51-21, on the night as these same two teams will go at it again tomorrow afternoon at 3 p.m.
