DE PERE, Wis. – The Bulldogs finished their weekend series against the Green Knights Saturday afternoon in a crucial NCHA road matchup. Adrian bounced back from the 1-1 result of Friday night with a convincing 2-0 decision Saturday afternoon.
The Bulldogs took the lead in the first period when Hannah McGowan scored a power play goal from Kelsey Kusch and Kristin Lewicki at the 5:52 mark. Adrian used this as momentum to carry their one goal lead for the remainder of first period and throughout the second stanza. The Bulldogs would fire 10 shots in the first and 11 in the second while only allowing the Green Knights to record a total of 18.
Adrian then advanced their lead to 2-0 when Kaylyn Schroka scored from Sarah Shureb and McGowan at the 5:16 mark of the third period. The Bulldogs would fight off a Green Knight offensive rush led by Jade Walsh as she made 15 saves in the final period.
The Bulldogs secured their win, 2-0, to advance to 5-0-1 overall with a 5-0-1 mark in the NCHA.
Walsh (5-0-1) earned the victory in goal for Adrian as she recorded 33 saves for her third career shutout.
