Women's Bowling

Bulldogs Bowl in Regular Season Finale

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The women's bowling team competed in their final regular season tournament this past weekend as they bowled in the Hoosier Classic. The Hoosier Classic upheld their tradition as being the hardest and biggest event of the season as the team competed against 63 other women's teams.  Teams were not shown the oil patterns and were only told what the lengths, ratios and volumes for the two very difficult patterns. On Saturday the team bowled six games on the 37-foot pattern and struggled as they have throughout the season on shorter patterns. Despite shooting two games over 900, the team couldn't recover from two bad games and were in 36th place after day one.

On Sunday, the team bowled three games on the 51-foot oil pattern and we only able to move up one spot as they shot another below average game to start the day. While they rebounded a bit in their last two games, they just didn't have enough time to make up for the first game and finished 35th.

"It's definitely not how we would have liked to finish our regular season, but now we know we have a lot of things we need to work on before sectionals in March," said head coach Jody Fetterhoff.

The team had two bowlers crack the top 75 as junior Nicole Loomis and senior Chelsea Essenmacher placed 56th and 75th out of 416 bowlers. Loomis averaged 181.89 and Essenmacher averaged 179 throughout the nine games.
