Box Score LAKE FOREST, Ill. – The Bulldogs traveled to Lake Forest College as the Foresters hosted the SLAATS Cup Four and Adrian was set to take on the host school Friday evening. The Foresters had the edge on the Bulldogs in the regular season as Adrian went 1-2 against Lake Forest during regular season NCHA action with the Foresters getting the best of the Bulldogs during the last meeting, 6-3, back on February 15. Friday evening saw the Foresters jump out to a 2-0 lead after two periods. The Bulldogs cut the lead to 2-1 in the third period but they could not tie the score as they fell to Lake Forest and dropped their 2013-14 record to 19-7-1.
The first period saw the teams play evenly as they traded shots. The Foresters would break the tie and take the 1-0 first period lead as Alex Stensland scored with 3:29 remaining in the period. The Foresters put 11 shots on goal to nine from the Bulldogs.
The second period saw Lake Forest quickly add to their lead as they put the Bulldogs down, 2-0, just 2:43 into the period as Michelle Greenway scored. The Foresters put 15 shots on goal for the period and the Bulldogs fired 12.
The third period saw the Bulldogs charge back into the game. Courtney Millar put Adrian on the board at the 10:55 mark as she scored her fourth goal of the year from Sydney Smith. The Bulldogs would then give their full effort to tie the score as the doubled up the Foresters in shots for the remainder of the period, 6-3. The Bulldogs outshot the Lake Forest for the period 8-6. The Foresters held off the Bulldog attack as they took Adrian down, 2-1, and knocked them out of the SLAATS Cup Playoffs.
Jade Walsh (12-6-1) made the start in the net for the Bulldogs as she made 30 saves and held Lake Forest to 0-3 on the power play.
