ADRIAN, Mich. – The Bulldogs finished their weekend series with Finlandia University Saturday afternoon. Adrian controlled the play as they out-shot the Lions 53-9 on their way to a 5-0 decision and a weekend sweep. The Bulldogs now stand at 15-0-3 overall and 10-0-2 in the NCHA.
Kelsey Kusch started the scoring for the Bulldogs as she scored her ninth power play goal of the season at the 3:58 mark of the first period from Logan Taylor and Devyn Fitzhenry. This fueled the Adrian offense that would record 39 shots on goal over the first two periods while allowing just four.
The Bulldogs added to their lead in the second period as Kaylyn Schroka would score two goals, including one shorthanded at the 17:28 mark from Kristin Lewicki that advanced the Adrian to 4-0. Taylor would add her 13th goal of the season as the Bulldogs took a 4-0 lead into the final period.
Adrian capped their scoring in the final period on a goal from Hannah McGowan from Michelle Jones and Bailey Robertson. Jade Walsh earned her 15th win of the season by making five saves in just over 50 shutout minutes. Brooke Gibson aided the Adrian shutout by making four saves in almost 10 minutes of action.
