Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The Bulldogs took on Olivet College Saturday afternoon. Adrian fell behind, 32-26, at the half before Rickey Jackson, Jr. would spark a Bulldogs second half comeback in a 57-55 victory. The Bulldogs are now 7-12 overall with a 5-3 mark in the MIAA.
The Bulldogs built a 17-12 lead with less than nine minutes remaining in the first half following a made three-point shot by Jackson, Jr as he would record 12 first half points. The Comets would respond with a 9-0 run that would leave Adrian behind headed into the break.
The second half saw the Bulldogs comeback to take the lead behind Jackson, Jr. and Curtis Gordon as they would combine for 22 of the 31 second half point for Adrian. The Bulldogs started the second half with a 9-0 run, and held Olivet scoreless for the first seven minutes of the second 20 minute period. The Comets would fight to tie the score, 49-49, with 3:05 remaining to keep the pressure on Adrian. The Bulldogs would respond as they did not let Olivet take the lead again with clutch free throws from Gordon down the stretch to secure their fifth MIAA win of the season.
Rickey Jackson, Jr. finished with 25 points, five rebounds and five steals. Jackson, Jr. sparked the Bulldogs with clutch three-point shots that would keep the Adrian lead out of reach as he went 6-10 from behind the arch for the game. Curtis Gordon finished with 11 points and five assists. Gordon went 2-2 from three-point range and 5-6 from the free throw line to help the Bulldogs secure their victory.
