TECUMSEH, Mich.–The Adrian College women's bowling team captured first place in the five-team field at the inaugural Halo Invitational hosted by Siena Heights University at Ten-Pin Alley over the weekend. The Bulldogs rolled over the competition by over 230 pins, knocking down 6,829 over six games to easily out-distance the runner-up host Saints who had 6,593.
Adrian junior Brittney Antonelli was the top finisher in the tournament, compiling six-game series of 1,210 for an average of 201.67 to pace the 41-bowler field. She led the all-tournament team as a No. 1 consensus pick. Also notching individual top-10 finishes were senior Katie Pakkala with a 1,182 (197 avg.) and sophomore Jennifer Kelly with a 1,050 (175) while classmate Noelle Scheuer just missed in 11th (1,044; 174).
"This win was a great win for the Lady Bulldogs," Adrian assistant coach Darrin Griewahn said. "There is a lot of talent on this team and this win was a group effort
"This team is on a roll right now and I am looking forward to Canton next weekend."
Adrian hits the lanes again next Saturday and Sunday with two American-Heartland Intercollegiate Bowling Conference tournaments at Super Bowl in Canton.
