The women's bowling team traveled to Indianapolis, Indiana to compete in their biggest and last regular season event of the year in the Hoosier Classic. Sixty-seven women's teams competed in a grueling nine-game tournament in which teams bowled on two very difficult oil patterns. On Saturday, all teams bowled six team games on a 42-foot pattern. Adrian got off great start as they shot a 929 and 960. As the pattern broke down the team struggled and ended the day in 28th place. On Sunday, the team bowled three more team games on a 38-foot oil pattern. The team had a much better look on the 38-foot pattern and fired off a 982 in their first game. They continued to bowl well and shot an 895 game two and then finished with a 900. Their strong finish moved them up eight spots to finish in 20th place. 

Junior Taylor Ouellette, freshman Noelle Scheuer and sophomore Megan Smoltz had amazing days on Sunday and were a big reason why the team moved up eight spots. Ouellette shot a 601 averaging 200.33, Scheuer shot a 599 for a 199.66 average and Smoltz shot a 589 for a 196.33 average. Ouellette led the team as she averaged 187.88 for eight games. Scheuer bowled all nine games to finish in 46th place out of 438 bowlers, averaging 185.67.  

"It's great to see that the team is starting to peak at the right time," said head coach Jody Fetterhoff. "The Hoosier Classic is always the toughest tournament of the year in terms of the strength of the field and the challenging oil patterns so to finish in the top 20 is great. Hopefully with their performance this weekend they have gained some confidence in themselves, as we have our AHIBC Conference Championships coming up on February 28 and Sectionals March 14-15."
