ADRIAN, Mich. – The women's hockey team took on Concordia University (Wis.) Friday afternoon in the NCHA Slaats Cup semifinals. Adrian and the Falcons had three regular season matchups that saw Concordia tie the Bulldogs, 4-4, and Adrian take a pair of decisions, 2-1 and 3-1.

The Bulldogs came out firing in the first period with 20 shots on goal while allowing two from the Falcons. Adrian took the 1-0 lead after the first as Kaylyn Schroka banged in a rebound from a Courtney Millar shot on the power play. Adrian would control the second with nine more shots and the Falcons would tally seven, but Concordia would tie the game at the 14:30 mark as Samantha Reiter scored from Emily Heckendorf on the power play.

The teams would remained tied until the 13:16 mark of the third period as Concordia would take the lead with a Nicole Krumwiede goal, her first of the season. The Falcons would then fend off the Bulldog charge as Adrian would skate six-on-five for the final 1:46, but Concordia goaltender Bridget Slater would make eight saves in the final period on her way to a 41-save performance. Jade Walsh (20-2-4) earned the decision in goal for Adrian with 15 saves.

The Bulldogs would not be able to find the back of the net again as the Falcons dropped Adrian, 2-1, and knocked them out of the Slaats Cup Playoffs. The Falcons will now advance to the Slaats Cup Finals tomorrow (3/7) to take on the winner of St. Norbert College and Lake Forest College.
