Adrian College Men's Soccer Comes from Behind to Beat Albion in Overtime

Box Score

Adrian, Mich. – The Adrian College men's soccer team came from behind to win 2-1 in overtime against Albion College in the conference opener.  Junior midfielder Mark Proctor scored the winning goal in the fifth minute of overtime.

Both teams played strong defense during the first half taking the game into halftime with no score.  That would change quickly in the second half though as Briton junior defenseman Andrew Prince found the back of the net in the fifty first minute of the game giving Albion the 1-0 lead.

Things looked grim for the Bulldog's as the defensive struggle of the first half set in after the goal.  But in the seventy third minute freshman midfielder Brandon Katona found the back of the net for Adrian, bringing the score to 1-1, which would be the score at the end of regulation, forcing overtime.

The Bulldogs finished the comeback that they had started, as Proctor curved the ball around Albion goalkeeper Justin Kraft and into the net.  The goal gave Adrian the 2-1 win.

The Bulldogs will look to hold on to this momentum as they travel to Angola, Ind. to face Trine University at noon on Saturday September 19.
