Box Score Bluffton, Ind. – The Adrian College men's soccer team competed in their second straight match on the road; this time, visiting Bluffton University. It took two overtimes but the Bulldogs emerged victorious 2-1. Freshman Jordan Pennington scored the unassisted, game-winning goal with four minutes left in the second overtime.
The game started in a defensive battle; remaining scoreless until the second half. In the 65th minute Adrian sophomore Shayan Shushtari scored off an assist from fellow sophomore Sean Cain.
The lead would not last long as Bluffton senior Ryan Johnson-Evers would score the equalizer just ten minutes later.
Regulation and the first overtime would end in a tie. But then in the waning minutes of the second overtime Pennington found the back of the net for the first time this season leading the Bulldogs to their first win of the season.
The Bulldogs play their home opener this Sunday, September 6 at 3:00 pm, hosting The Muskingum University Muskellunge. Adrian comes into the game with a record of 1-1 while the visiting Muskingum comes in at 0-1.
